Building Your
Village One
Mama at a Time
Baby Programs Designed for Mamas
Parenting is a journey that can raise us up and bring us to our knees all within a single hour. It can be a time when we feel overwhelming love and exhausted confusion at the very same moment. It’s a journey that we shouldn’t have to go through alone. It takes a village to raise a child, but in today’s world, our village has changed. Let’s build a new village, together. One that supports each other, listens to each other, and allows us to grow as the mothers we are meant to be.
They Call Me MAMA does that. It builds up your village, connecting you with other mothers and caregivers in a meaningful way through educational based programming geared towards you, the mama, the one who spends her time caring for everyone else and often forgetting about herself.
“I want They Call Me MAMA to be a program for MAMA’s not only to learn about their babe, support options, programs, and activities in their community, but to be a safe place to share, talk, and validate you in your role as a MAMA.

Mama Support Programs
Each program has been carefully crafted to help mama’s connect, learn, and gain confidence in their role as mother and as an individual. Each session brings a new topic and encourages honest conversation and participation. Your babes will be engaged and stimulated while you get something you greatly need – support from your mama village. All programs are based out of Oakville, Ontario.

The Mama behind They Call Me MAMA

Hi! I'm Renée Tanaka
Maternal Support Practitioner | Founder
Hi! I’m Renée Tanaka. Since becoming a mama I have experienced life like I never imagined. My husband Francis and I have two amazing boys, Reed and Lane, and they have taught me so much about life and myself. What I have learned the most over the years is how much I need and want to connect with other parents to share in our experiences and build bonds that help us move forward raising these little people.
I am blessed to live in the city that I do. Raising our family in Oakville, Ontario gives us so much, and I am beyond excited to be giving back to it. We have an abundance of programming for moms and babes, but I’m seeking to fill the gap of community, connection, and conversation that we so desperately crave after having a baby.
My mission with They Call Me MAMA is to bring us together as a village, as a community, as a group of women who support, listen, encourage, and relate to each other in a way that tells us that we’re doing it right, this thing called motherhood, even when we think we are doing it wrong.

What I’m talkin’ about…
From One Mama to Another
When I think back to being pregnant with my first son Reed, I remember talking with girlfriends, family, and old ladies in the grocery store about all things to do with this baby in my belly. (Maybe not so much talking with, but more like being talked to.) And...
